Context
The College Book Art Association’s (CBBA) 2025 Annual Meeting convened in Madison, WI, drawing artists, educators, and scholars from across the country. The four-day event showcased the evolving field of book arts and included workshops, panels, exhibitions, and networking events across university and community spaces.
My Role
As a Business Development Specialist through UW–Madison’s Conferences & Events team, I served as the point person for event branding, online infrastructure, and promotional strategy. My work ensured a cohesive visual identity and a seamless experience for attendees engaging with the event both in-person and online.
Key Contributions
- Event Branding & Design: Developed a unified visual language for the conference, including logo elements, typography, and branded templates for digital and print use.
- Website & Online Logistics: Built and maintained the event website using user-friendly, mobile-accessible templates to house the schedule, speaker bios, registration links, and live updates.
- Promotional Communications: Created and scheduled a campaign of email newsletters and social media assets that increased early registration and community awareness.
- Accessibility & Engagement: Integrated digital tools to support remote engagement and inclusive access, including captioned recordings and clear web navigation.
Outcomes
- Strengthened the CBAA’s brand presence across digital platforms
- Supported a high level of engagement and early ticket sales through coordinated outreach
- Delivered a professional and consistent attendee experience aligned with CBAA’s mission of community and scholarship
Impact
This project reinforced my ability to translate complex, multi-day academic events into approachable, well-branded public-facing experiences. It also demonstrated how thoughtful communications design can elevate nonprofit programming, encourage participation, and strengthen institutional partnerships.
